Every year I join a soccer team in the fall. This is the first year I did spring soccer. Ever since the season started, my team won every single game and then we tied one. That counts as a win, so our winning streak continued. We were tied in 1st place with another team till that team lost a game. Then we were in 1st place in the league, all by ourselves. Our last game was this past Saturday. We faced the team that was just under us, in 2nd place. They were the VERY same team that formerly shared our 1st place title.
Things got tough, and we were losing by one. Then two, and finally we were losing by 3... Soon the game ended. Even though they beat us on that final game, we ended up sharing the 1st place title once again. I can’t complain because both teams really earned it. Ahh! Victory feels great.
